An old building reportedly collapsed at Ile-anirin, Ile-tuntun in the ancient city of Ibadan, Oyo state capital on Saturday, claiming the life of one 13-year- old boy with many severely injured, Double A Media reports.
The incident was said to have occurred at the midnight when all inhabitants were far asleep having worked all the day long.
According to report gathered by Double A Media, the old inherited building of over 20-year gives no signal of collapse until that hour of the incident.
Speaking with the mother of the deceased, Mrs. Raji, she explained that all her efforts to rescue her son prove abortive.
“…immediately I woke up, I tried to wake up my two sons but unfortunately the wall collapsed and sunk Abiodun.”
Abiodun Raji was a J.S.S 2 student of Muslim Grammar School, Odinjo, Ibadan.
Furthermore, the father of the deceased who happens to be an house painter according to him, is a tenant in the house and the collapse of the building caught then unaware for him to comprehend how it happened.
The landlord and the victims therefore seek the support of Nigerians for help, to meet their needs in time like this.
As at press time, the landlady was seen seriously lamenting in pain as her legs were seriously injured with lesser hope of rising again.
