The former Deputy Governor of Oyo State and state’s party chieftain of People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alh. Hazeem Gbolarumi has said the former members in PDP like former Governor Alao Akala and Senator Teslim Folarin who are presently in All Progressive Congress (APC) will return back to PDP.
According to Gbolarumi, the abysmal performance of APC led federal government will make the party lose in the state come 2023 and as a result, the former members of PDP are coming back to avoid loss in APC.
Chief Gbolarumi while speaking in an interview with Ajibola Akinyefa TV said, APC’s vow to return to government come 2023, is a dream which won’t come to pass.
He said: “there’s no come back of APC in Oyo State because residents don’t want the party again due to their poor performance at federal level.
“APC has impoverished Nigerian citizens and no reasonable person will vote for APC come 2023. As a result of this, Akala, Folarin and others who left PDP for APC in Oyo State are coming back.
“Mark my words, they are coming back to PDP because it’s PDP that made them to become successful politicians they are.
“Another reason is that PDP have missed one of them like Akala who was a cheer giver. If he comes back to PDP, the party will be more successful.
“But if they remain in APC, they know that they won’t get people’s mandate because of abysmal performance from APC led Federal Government.
“I’m saying this because I understand this game. My first address is politics before I studied law. I’m a ‘political practitioner’. I understand political games. And don’t worry about those we heard in the news leaving PDP for APC, they know they are leaving certainty for uncertainty. Definitely, they’ll come back.
“APC name has been soiled, no one speaking good of them again. PDP is the party to beat now. I dare somebody to come out in Beere and shout Buhari for President, the person will be lynched to death.
“APC has put people in serious distress. There’s no money, no food. People are living in abject poverty”, Gbolarumi said.
