As the campaign process towards the 2023 General Elections commenced for Presidential and National Assembly candidates, the independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has listed the Accord Party Governorship candidate, Chief Adebayo Adelabu as among the Governorship candidates in Oyo State.
According to the Media Aide to Chief Adelabu, Comrade Femi Awogboro, the acceptance of the Accord Party Governorship candidate and other candidates of the party by the people of Oyo State is an evidence that the good people of Oyo State are ready for good governance .
Awogboro said the list released by INEC has strategical put a stop to political tricks used by unscrupulous elements to distract the attention of the people from the acceptable candidature of Chief Adebayo Adelabu.
Awogboro also explained that the Nation’s 62 Independence Anniversary is a wake up call for Nigerians to have positive thinking about the country while the 2023 General Election is another opportunity to get it right by electing good leaders in various elective positions.
While Speaking with journalists in Ibadan on the State of the nation and political development in Oyo state, he said that the people of the State are wiser than ever and won’t allow people of violent character to govern them.
“I can tell you categorically that my boss Adebayo Adelabu is ready to contest for Governor of Oyo State under the Accord Party and will win based on the support and feedbacks received so far.”
“We can only beg our esteemed supporters to please eschew violence and shun hate speech or avoid anything that is capable of truncating peace in their respective domains. Our attention has been drawn to the rumours going round but the Team Adelabu decided not join issues with anyone.The Mandate of Chief Adebayo Adelabu is intact and sancrosant”, Awogboro stated. He affirmed that come May 29, 2023, Chief Adebayo Adelabu willbe sworn-in as the people’s Governor ofOyo Staye after having won the Governorship Election.
