The former youth leader of the All Progressive Congress, (APC) in Oyo South senatorial district, Hon. Ogunbiyi Rasheed Niran has dumped party to join Chief Adebayo Adelabu in Accord Party.
Hon Ogunbiyi, a well known politician, grassroot mobilizer and Coordinator of some youth organizations left APC for Accord Party over alleged high handedness and irregularities in running the affairs of the party.
While speaking with our reporter, Ogunbiyi said: “I will rather be an ordinary party member in Accord Party than to remain as the youth leader in divided APC in the state. As far Oyo election is concerned and the feedbacks from various youth leaders of APC had no chance of winning governorship election in the state.
“I ignore some political parties who had meetings with me but decided to join Chief Adebayo Adelabu in Accord Party due his leadership style and passion he had for good governance”Ogunbiyi said.
He also stressed that the level of corruption and self-centeredness of the so called leaders of the Oyo APC necessitated the reason for many prominent members to leave the party.
“Oyo APC is filled with selfish and corrupt leaders that only exploit innocent members to fill their pockets in exchange of the progressive ideology of the party.
“After series of consultation with relevant stakeholders and the Youth wing of the party, I joined Accord Party to ensure victory of Chief Adelabu and other candidates of the party in the District and certainly sure Accord is a party that meant well for the youths and people of the Oyo State”
“Aside the progressive conduct of the party, Accord is filled with progressive minded leaders, members, and properly positioning the youths for leadership recruit. As it is seen today, my new task is now to mobilize aggressively for Accord to ensure victory at the poll come next year”.
“I enjoined the youths in Oyo APC to wake up from their slumber and rethink their stay in the party as the party continues to be in a retrogressive state rather than progressive, and join the progressive Accord in the state.” Ogunbiyi stated.
Appreciating Hon. Niran Ogunbiyi to Adebayo Adelabu Accord progressive fold, the media aide to Chief Adelabu, Comrade Femi Awogboro didn’t hide his feelings to Mr Ogunbiyi for identifying with his boss, saying “at this crucial time that he joined the party, he won’t regret his action because Adelabu stands for equal right for all”.
Comrade Awogboro said with God and the support of good people of Oyo state who has already tired of maladministration of the present government, Chief Adelabu and other candidates of Accord will win in the 2023 general elections .
