The former Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Barrister Hazeem Gbolarumi has urged artisans and other support group in the state to ensure Atiku Abubakar, the presidential flag bearer of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 general elections emerged the winner.
The Oyo State Coordinator for Atiku Campaign Organization stated this during his visit to groups and supporters of Atiku in Ibadan on Tuesday to flag off campaign for the presidential candidate.
Gbolarumi noted that Atiku is worthy to become the next president having portrayed himself as a statesman and patriotic citizen of Nigeria.
He said: “Atiku as the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, an employer of labour, a keen and key political party leader and stakeholder, a multiple time presidential candidate, who during the Social Democratic Party (SDP) presidential race, even stepped down in 1993 for our dearly departed hero, Late Bashorun Moshood Kashimawo Abiola (MKO), of blessed memory, Atiku neither abused with power, nor abused power, as it only takes a person of inner violence to exhibit outer abuse of power, who HE Atiku is not”.
According to Gbolarumi, Atiku is a trustworthy politician compare to his APC counterpart who is identified as falsehood personified with all forms of allegations against him.
He said: “Nigerians must vote for Atiku because of his good track records and his contributions to politics and societal developments. This is unlike major rival in opposition party whose age, track records and antecedent has made him tagged a falsehood personified”.
Gbolarumi therefore laid down strategic measures PDP in Oyo State will exploit to ensure victory for the political party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar saying his major move is taking the campaign to grassroot.
He noted that as a grassroot politician, he has achieved similar feat in the past especially when late strongman of Ibadan politics, Alhaji Ariyibi Adedibu was alive and he is ready to achieve the feat again.
