The Federal Commissioner at the Federal Character Commission, Abuja from Oyo State, Professor Adeniyi Olowofela has appreciated his teeming supporters for their support during 2019 General elections.
He also declared that he is not contesting for any political office in the coming 2023 elections as some well meaning supporters are waiting for his decision.
Olowofela, an academic was a former local council Chairman of Ido Local Government and later as Oyo State Commissioner for Education. He contested for House of Representative election in 2019 under the All Progressive Congress (APC) but lost to Hon. Yemi Taiwo from People’s Democratic Party (PDP). He is presently the Federal Commissioner at the Federal Character Commission, Abuja.
In his thank you message to his supporters, the erudite scholar wrote below;
Thank you Message.
I will like to use this medium to appreciate my innumerable Supporters in Ido local Government, Ibarapa local Government and the entire 33 Local Governments in Oyo-State for your support and prayers during the 2019 Election.
I want to seize this moment to inform you all that I will not be contesting for any political position in the 2023 election.
This information becomes imperative because of prompting from well meaning supporters from my Constituency and across the entire Oyo-State in General.
I pray that God keep us alive till and beyond 2023, to exercise our constitutional responsibilities for our preferred Candidates. I pray that we choose right and our elected Political Office holders are alive to there civic responsibilities.
I will do everything humanly possible to support any candidate chosen by my Party.
