Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, have arrested a 75-year-old grandma, Mrs. Sekinat Soremekun, for allegedly dealing in illicit drugs.
The suspect was arrested in Oshodi, Lagos on Friday, December 15, with quantities of cannabis and liters of codeine syrup.
NDLEA’s spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, in a statement on Sunday, December 17, said, “She claimed her son, Segun, who is now at large, supplied her with the illicit substances which she retailed.”
“Mrs. Soremekun, a devout churchgoer and respected member of her community, shocked her neighbors and loved ones with her alleged involvement in drug trafficking. Known for her strong adherence to religious principles, she had built a reputation as a God-fearing woman who always extended a helping hand to those in need.
