The Oyo State police has cried out to people in the state to assist police in restoring peace and order in state and also to retrieve the stolen AK-47 stolen by hoodlums in the state.
The state’s Commissioner of Police, Joe Enwonwu stated this to journalists when executive members of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State Chapter with some colleagues paid courtesy visit to the CP at Eleyele on Wednesday.
While speaking, the man was full of rage, saying: “jungle justice was becoming order of the day and warned of anarchy. The police boss said anybody could be lynched with the ongoing senseless ‘jungle justice’ in the state.
He also made startling revelation that some AK47 stolen by hoodlums during the EndSARS protest are still with the arsonists.
He warned residents to assist the police in retrieving the weapons before long.
According to him, nobody should sleep with two eyes closed in Ibadan, until they assist the police to expose those hoodlums in possession of dangerous arms before they begin to unleash terror on hapless citizens.
