A Nigerian lady was seen bleeding from her nose after a police officers allegedly hit hit her face with butt of gun in Warri.
The police reportedly took to his heels after the lady started bleeding profusely from her nose.
The lady who is simply identified as Rume who is a makeover artist was a recent victim of police brutality after the operative attached to the Ekpan Police Station allegedly hit her face with the butt of a gun and fled the scene with his colleagues after they saw her bleeding profusely from her nose.
The sister of the victim while speaking said, the runaway operatives stopped the boarded tricycle and ordered the female occupants to come down accusing them of being prostitutes.
She added that the incident degenerated to an assault after the operatives requested to search through the victim’s bag but the cops hit her wasting time to comply.
A female UNIBEN graduate and a humanitarian whose name not known when filing this report and who was once a victim of police brutality from men of the same division raised an alarm to the human rights community to intervene and demand justice for the victim.
Meanwhile, efforts to contact the DPO of the Ekpan station for comments regards the alleged assault were to no avail but ace human rights activist, Isreal Joe was able to reach him and an X-ray was demanded to commence investigation into the brutality.
