The wife of Nigerian popular magician, Lady Peller has revealed how Nigerian media caused death of her husband 24 years ago.
The late magician, Moshood Folorunsho Abiola popularly known as Professor Peller died in a way no one could ever imagined. He died through assassination while he was busy praying to God in his house at Onipanu in Lagos.
Professor Peller was killed same day Fela Anikulapo died on August 2, 1997.
His wife, Alhaja whom they shared so many things in common, work together as magicians recounted the good, the bad and the ugly times they shared together before he was assassinated.
She remembered the Media forced him to reveal when he would be free of charms.
“I am Alhaja Silifat Abiola Peller popularly known as Lady Peller wife of Professor Peller,a native of Kishi, Oyo State and my husband is from Isheyin also from Oyo State. I worked together with my husband who was a magician, I am also a magician.”
“We have toured so many countries in Africa especially West African countries with our vehicles. We toured United Kingdom, United States and so on.”
“The day never-to-be-forgetten was a day at the National Theatre, in that year Professor Peller was performing his magic, he cut Lady Peller into two but could not join her back together. He tried all he could but all his efforts failed. All the audiences knew he tried his best to get her back, all his efforts proved abortive. That was how the show ended that day.”
“Glory be to God, Lady Peller came back alive but unknown to the people until the second day where we have Mammoth crowd waiting to see Lady Peller. When Professor Peller came out , the crowd said, “No, we want to see Lady Peller”. When they saw Lady Peller, some of the audience said they have watched enough after seeing Lady Peller. They were all happy when they saw me ”
“Many important dignitaries came to our show. Most times we perform for Chief Awolowo.”
She narrated the day she heard of the death of her husband,
“I was in Lagos when they called me, it was the same day Fela Anikulapo died, I didn’t hear anything. It was Fela:s death I heard until I heard about my husband’s death.”
“That day was the saddest day of my life, people said I fainted that I came alive when they poured water on my head”.
“He was praying on that day, That is why I said that God judge you by your character. He was a true Muslim.
“God has written the day everyone of us will die, I am a true Muslim likewise my husband. My husband died at the appointed time, only that God used some circumstance to carry it out. God wanted him in Aljanah (Paradise) that was why He took him while he was praying.”
“He was a nice man, a good husband and a good father. It is you, the Media that caused most of these things. You will put words into people’s mouth until he says what he doesn’t want to say. They asked him, “Professor, when do you usually free from your magical powers?” He told them he always remove his magical powers anytime he is praying. That was what the enemies used to murder him. They monitored him to the time when he must have removed all his magical powers to assassinate him.”
