Popular Nigerian Fiju maestro, Alh. Abdul-Abass Akande, popularly known as Obesere, has expressed his sadness over the death of a younger colleague in the Fuji music industry in Nigeria.
Obesere said in a statement made available through his media aide, Ibrahim Faletion on Wednesday that sudden death of Alh. Taofeek Adewale Amoo Igisekele is a rude shock to him and the Fuji music industry in Nigeria.
The statement reads in part: “With total submission to the will of Almighty Allah, I Alh. Abdul-Abass Akande Obesere and Obesere fans club across the globe with heavy heart announce the sudden death of Alh. Taofeek Adewale Amoo Igisekele who died after a brief illness on Monday 17th 2021. Before his death Alh. Taofeek is a well-known Fuji Artist who based in New Jersey, he started his Fuji career here in Ibadan before he relocated to United Kingdom and United States respectively, Igisekele is a successful Fuji artist.”
Describing the deceased as a complete gentleman, peace loving and above all a devoted Muslim, Faleti, who released the statement under the auspices of Obesere’s media outfit Sidophobia Entertainment, further prayed for the bereaved family, saying:” May Allah give the family fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
