“There was a long war between the house of Saul and the house of David: but David waxed stronger and stronger, and the house of Saul waxed weaker and weaker.” (2 Samuel 3:1)
We seem to live in a world where generations degenerate.
The previous generation always seems to be stronger than the present.
Policies, qualities, and standards wane and nosedive from year to year.
A perpetually strong generation must give attention to these three;
- TRAINING
- CALLING
- EXPERIENCE
Aspects of training include a time to observe, a time to assist, and a time to perform.
The institutions of training include the home, the church, and the school.
Charity, they say, begins at home. The home is the foundation for a child’s training, and if the foundation is destroyed, even the righteous might be helpless.
When a child misbehaves in the public, no one really faults his school or church’s training. They simply say, “he lacks home training”.
The next place of training for a child is the church, where the consciousness of God is intensified in a child.
This is where a child comes to terms with this verdict of Jesus; “without ME, you can do nothing!”
He’s got to internalize these facts:
“Anything that is not God based is baseless!”
“Things fall apart when God is not at the centre”
A child should understand these much more than he does Mathematics.
He needs to know that Money gives MEANS in life, but God gives MEANING to life.
Finally, a child goes to school where he gets properly integrated into the society.
Here, he discovers the gold mine of books, and realizes that a book is the only commodity you can’t pay enough for. Its value is always more than its price.
School is not a Government’s idea originally ; it is God’s.
God sent us a Rabbi (teacher), to raise disciples (students).
He went further to say:
“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge”.
“To an untrained child, everything is a constrain”
