The Accord Party National Secretary and House of Representative candidate, Ibadan North East/ South East Federal Constituency, Hon. (Mrs) Abiola Adebukola Ajaja has revealed why Accord Party is the political party to win elective positions in Oyo State come 2023 general elections.
The former House of Rep. member under the political party in 2011 – 2015 while speaking with journalists in Ibadan over the weekend also revealed that the party’s governorship candidate, Oloye Adebayo Adelabu will not use and dump people working for him to win the the election unlike how Governor Seyi Makinde reportedly did.
She also revealed why Adelabu and Accord Party will win governorship and other elective positions in the state.
According to Ajaja, Adelabu is a sellable candidate having garnered experience as banker and businessman coupled with his grandfather’s legacy in Ibadan and Oyo State in general.
She said: “Accord Party is number one on ballot paper and in Oyo State. We have candidates in all elective positions across the state – 32 House of Assembly, 14 House of Reps, 3 senate and one governorship candidate.
“Adelabu is a sellable candidate and people love him out of pity that he contested in 2019 and what APC did for him. He poises to win 2023 governorship election because people have soft pot for him. We wooed him into my party because of his qualities in him and as a sellable candidate. He is a successful banker, businessman and highly intelligent. All these coupled with political legacy of his grandfather, Adegoke Adelabu (Penkelemesi) in Oyo State and in Ibadan in particular, Adebayo Adelabu will surely win. We heard story of Seyi Makinde using and dumping people who worked for him to win 2019 governorship election. I promise that Adelabu is a trustworthy person who won’t do that and that was a reason large numbers of his supporters followed him from APC to join Accord Party.
“Accord is a formidable and good political platform capable to win elections. We have done it in the past in 2011, we won four House of Rep seats and House of Assembly seats. And we were able to touch lives and made impacts with the elective positions. Also, our logo is very easy to describe to people as it has to do with our thumb we use everyday. Also, people are tired of the two political parties, APC and PDP. They are looking for a better alternative which is the Accord Party.
“Accord had been founded in 2006, we brought it to Oyo State in 2010 when PDP maltreated Baba Ladoja. Therefore, it wasn’t Baba Ladoja founded Accord. I was there when we brought Accord to Oyo State.
“As an elderly man, Ladoja is a father to everyone. Not only Seyi Makinde owns Baba. We all go to him to seek advice and prayers.
“Accord has good structure and we have presence in all 33 local governments and 36 states including FCT in Nigeria. Before Accord was brought to Oyo State, our first senator was from Delta State though he is late now.
” I’m contesting for House of Representative seat in Ibadan North-East and South-East Federal Constituency at the National Assembly. Yesterday, I went to my members in North East local council area and I was received by mammoth members. On Monday, we are going to South East local council area to do same thing. This is to show I have good relationship with members of my constituency and I believe I’m winning the election come next year February”, Hon. Ajaja revealed.
