The Minister of Power and Oyo State 2027 governorship hopeful under the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Adebayo Adelabu, has called for genuine reconciliation and unity within the party ahead of the forthcoming congresses and primary elections.
Adelabu made the call on Saturday during a consultative visit to APC leaders in Ibadan Inner City, comprising Ibadan North, Ibadan South-West, Ibadan South-East, Ibadan North-East, and Ibadan North-West local governments.
He urged stakeholders to set aside personal differences, embrace peace, and ensure internal democracy thrives across all levels of party leadership.

“I’m urging all leaders and stakeholders of Oyo APC to make peace and work towards a genuine reconciliation process for the party ahead of the upcoming congress and primary election. Let’s unite and discourage multiple delegate lists across wards, local governments, and the state level to avoid future misunderstandings,” Adelabu stated.
The Minister further cautioned against imposition of candidates, noting that such practices have historically caused disunity within the party and could jeopardize its chances in the 2027 general election.
Adelabu emphasized that only a united APC can wrest power from the current administration in Oyo State, which he described as a status quo government lacking visionary and transformational policies despite the huge federal allocations at its disposal.

“We must not allow a government that has brought little or no meaningful development to our state to impose a successor. Oyo deserves better,” he added.
Commending President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his bold economic reforms, Adelabu noted that the President’s policies are beginning to yield positive results with a gradual reduction in prices of essential commodities.

“Though things may appear tough now, the reforms are taking shape. President Tinubu’s administration has curbed corruption, revived economic confidence, and laid the foundation for lasting prosperity,” he stated.
Adelabu concluded by reaffirming his commitment to building a united, forward-looking Oyo APC capable of delivering victory and good governance to the people in 2027.
