Adelabu’s Consultations Rattle Opponents, Says Aide — Visits Meant for Party Unity, Not Politics

The Office of the Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, has dismissed claims that his recent consultative visits across Oyo State were politically motivated, describing such insinuations as baseless and a reflection of the unease among his detractors.

In a statement released by one of his aides, Comrade Femi Awogboro, the Minister clarified that the engagements were designed to strengthen internal unity within the All Progressives Congress (APC), not to advance any political ambition.

“Chief Adelabu’s consultations were aimed at promoting peace, cohesion, and understanding among APC members across the state. There were no campaign messages, declarations, or political solicitations during these meetings,” Awogboro stated.

He explained that the Minister’s visits to Ogbomoso, Oyo, Oke-Ogun, and Ibarapa zones were part of an ongoing effort to build internal harmony within the APC and to brief party stakeholders on his performance as Minister of Power.

“Those who are attempting to twist the purpose of these engagements are merely uncomfortable with the widespread acceptance and support Chief Adelabu continues to enjoy across Oyo State,” Awogboro added.

He further reaffirmed Chief Adelabu’s commitment to fostering party unity, transparency in leadership, and improved electricity delivery across the country. According to him, the Minister’s inclusive and reconciliatory approach should be seen as an example of responsible leadership rather than political maneuvering.
