Festus Adedayo, the erstwhile media aide to immediate former governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi has said despite condemnation from people, the governor was a good listener to pieces advice he gave him.
Adedayo who was speaking as a guest speaker on Fresh FM this morning on his challenges as media adviser said: “there is nothing I asked from the governor that he doesn’t do. Those that he won’t do, he will explain reason he won’t heed the advice.
” Ajimobi may have his own drawbacks but he is a good lister to advice that have to do with people’s plights. I remembered a day, a journalist from Nigerian Tribune was harassed. I went to the governor’s office where he was having a meeting.
“Despite how he was busy in the meeting, the governor gave me attention and when I told him what happened, he said I should go and do what is necessary to address the situation. This was after a commissioner in the meeting said, ‘what is special in beating journalist, is it the first time journalists are beaten?
Reacting to bill on hate speech, Festus Adedayo said though people are misusing social media but things have not gotten that worse in the country to make such bill an act.
He added that the present government is becoming an autocratic government and it is gradually drifting towards Abacha’s form of governance.
