APC frontline governorship aspirant in 2023 and legal Luminary Chief NIYI Akintola, SAN on Saturday confirmed again that he lives by his words when he commissioned 10 lock up shops, 10:30 a.m. at the Agodi-gate motor spares market.
The new president of the Nigeria Baptist Convention, Reverend Akanji was on hand to do the commissioning honours and prayers with renowned Muslim cleric Alfa Akeu-gba-gold also in attendance for the same purpose.
It was a carnival like atmosphere at the event with the mammoth crowd stretching as far as the eye could see.
The clerics in their short sermons admonished leaders in the country to emulate Chief Akintola who according to them did not just donate money but ensured that the money was creatively expended to empower the recipients.
The chief himself sharply opposed the feudalistic idea of giving people rice and gari with little money to mess up their minds so that they will be eternally dependent , instead of creating jobs or facilitating job tools that empowers the people so that they can care for themselves.
The learned Silk said he told the market leaders when he visited the burnt down shops earlier this year that he would build 10 Shops to replace the ones destroyed.
In delivery he added well appointed toilets, iron doors etc the likes of which were not common within the complex. And despite the fact that his political machinery and hired professionals were always monitoring the project, Chief Akintola scrutinized the project’s progression from his different offices across Nigeria and even when he travelled overseas. This he said is important for speed and quality.
