The Amdalat Oloyede Foundation, a non-governmental and non-profit organization, has distributed 15,000 exercise books and school uniforms to pupils and students across six public schools in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The two-day distribution exercise was led by the Founder, Brigadier General Mutiu Abiola Oloyede-Asanike, son of the 37th Olubadan of Ibadanland, Late Oba Yesufu Oloyede Asanike, who reigned between 1983 and 1993.
Beneficiary schools include Ibadan Boys High School (Junior and Senior), Wesley School of Science, Elekuro, CAC Primary Schools 1 & 2, Ashanke Compound, Ibadan City Academy (Junior and Senior), Eleta, St. John’s Catholic Primary Schools 1–5, Eleta, and IMG Primary Schools 1 & 5, Eleta.

Established in 2023 in memory of his late mother, Olori Amdalat Oloyede-Asanike, the Foundation aims to complement government efforts in improving education across Ibadanland.
Moved by the deplorable state of some schools and the poor appearance of pupils, Brigadier General Oloyede also directed the procurement of new school uniforms and sandals for all pupils of CAC Primary Schools 1 & 2, Ashanke Compound.
Speaking at Ibadan Boys High School, Oloyede said: “The best gift you can give anyone, especially at the grassroots level, is education. While we acknowledge the government’s efforts, there are ways we can also add value. That is what we are doing by supporting you with what we have.”
He urged students to take their studies seriously and called on other well-meaning Ibadan indigenes to support educational development in the city.
Rear Admiral Lateef Adetokunbo Akintola (Rtd.), National President of the Ibadan Boys High School Old Boys Association, described the gesture as commendable, noting it was the first time an alumnus of Ibadan City Academy was extending such support to Ibadan Boys High School.
Dr. Rasheed Fasasi, Principal of Ibadan Boys High School (Senior Section), also expressed appreciation to the Foundation for its contribution to education in Ibadanland.
Student representatives, Senior Prefect Adenuga Emmanuel and Junior Prefect Boyejo Daniel, thanked Brigadier General Oloyede for his generosity, describing the gesture as an inspiration to young learners.
Members of Oloyede’s entourage included Barrister Biooye Oloyede-Ashanke (Jnr.), Coordinator of the Foundation, and Dr. Adetunbi Saheed Ige, Associate Professor at LAUTECH, Ogbomoso, among others.
