The commander of Amotekun in Ibarapa North local government has reportedly been killed by suspected Fulani herdsmen in Igangan area of the council.
It was gathered that the incident occurred when unknown gunmen invaded the town Friday evening, shooting for over 30 minutes.
Some residents said the gunmen whose identities are not known allegedly wore customs uniforms.
The assailants were said to have been initially repelled by local hunters.
A community leader said: “Report reaching me now reveals that around 8:00pm people suspected to be Fulani herdsmen again invaded Igangan and shooting for over 30minutes. Some said they were Custom men as they wore Custom uniform but they were chased by local hunters but have killed some people
“They also passed Igboora and continue shooting and it was reported people have died in Igboora too including one Amotekun operatives
“Further reports later as nobody knows what is going on in the major streets
“It was reported that the Commander of Amotekun in Ibarapa Central has been killed picture attached,”
Remember the daredevil Fulani herdsmen about two months ago invaded the town overnight killing many people in the process.
