In a gesture of respect and solidarity, Hon. Kazeem Alimi, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stalwart in Ibadan North Local Government Area, Oyo State, has announced the postponement of a highly anticipated mega decamping rally.
The rally was originally scheduled for Wednesday, July 17, 2024, and was set to welcome the defection of Senator Sharafadeen Alli’s loyalists from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the PDP in the local council area. However, Hon. Alimi has rescheduled the event to Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at 4 pm prompt at the PDP Local Government meeting venue, Salvation Army Primary School, Yemetu.
The decision to postpone the rally comes in the wake of the passing of Hon. (Prince) Musiliudeen Olaide Adewale Akinremi Jagaban, who represented the Ibadan North Federal Constituency. Hon. Akinremi Jagaban, a revered political icon and star politician, sadly passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, in Abuja and was laid to rest the following day at his residence in Temidire Estate, Ologuneru, Ibadan.
In his announcement, Hon. Alimi expressed his condolences and stated, “Beyond party politics, Hon. Akinremi Jagaban was widely respected in political circles and deserves our utmost respect. May his soul rest in peace. Ameen.”
