The Aseyin of Iseyin, Oba Sefiu Olawale Oyebola has taken a second wife ahead of his official installation as the new Aseyin.
The new bride, Maryam Omoronke Abike will be officially betrothed to Oba Oyebola on Thursday at a planned Nikkah program holding at Lagos.
The Chronicler Newspaper got possession of the official invitation of the much-talked about introduction and engagement program on Monday while close palace source hinted that all arrangements are in place for the event.
Our source added that the new bride will be taken to the Aseyin’s palace upon arrival at Iseyin to meet the Kabiyesi on Thursday or Friday after which a befitting party will follow at Iseyin.
The new ‘Olori Aseyin’ is an indigene of Osogbo in Osun State and her parents have for long, lived at Oyo township.
The Chronicler Newspaper’s source who decided to be anonymous said the monarch was expected to balance between the two main religions, which are Christianity and Islam in his choice of wives as he presided over all religions in his community.
”The marriage is all about affection, love and procreation, but most importantly, the king is seen as father to all religions, so since he already has a wife who is a Christian, it is explainable that he will have a Muslim wife too,” our source revealed.
Meanwhile the coronation of Oba Olawale has been officially approved by the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde last week Thursday and the ceremony is due to hold in a matter of weeks.
