BBN former housemate Khaffi Kareemhas also taken to her twitter account to explain why she forgave the guy who raped her.
This follows after so many cases are being unveiled following the rape and murder of Vera Uwaila Omozuwa, Barakat Bello and others.
Khafi who is a police officer with the Metropolitan Police, UK explained that she was also a victim of rape some years ago. She stated that she chose not to report the rapist but forgive him because he was sincerely sorry about the act and apologized tight after.
She tweeted “#WhylDidntReport- because he apologised right after. Because l made myself believe him being drunk was an excuse. Because
the one person I did tell said caused it. Because I felt dirty and ashamed. #WeAreTired Yes this did happen to me. I’m sharing in the hope that others will feel no shame in sharing what happened to them. Please don’t deflect or say it is not my story when it was already hard enough sharing it”.
She also advised victims to start speaking up and share what happened to them.
Meanwhile, Nigerian female celebraties like Tiwa Savage, Tonto Dikeh and many others continue to show their support and fight against it and pushing for the government to help put an end to it.
