A body of over 10000 South West youths in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), christened New Deal Coalition, (NDC) has urged the newly elected South west PDP zonal executives under the Chairmanship of H.E (Amb) Taofik Arapaja, to be manganimous in victory and shun every acts as tendencies towards division that are capable of causing a collapse of the party.
Speaking through its global convener, Akeem Adebomojo, the NDC, which congratulated the newly elected southwest PDP leaders, advised them that to consider their victory as God’s unmerited favour and grace, adding that that it could simply have been the other faction’s victory as well.
Adebomojo urged the executives to adopt an all inclusive administrative style where everybody will have a sense of belonging, saying such gesture would assist the party’s internal cohesion for eventual victory at the polls .
He said : Let us stress the fact that the outcome was too close to call as the winning faction had only polled 343 while the runner up polled 330 and the former was declared the winner based on principle of simple majority. However, the 330 cannot be sidelined as they constitute a formidable force in a democracy of a game of number where they have the major opponent in APC to combat.
“We also congratulated HE Engr Seyi Makinde on this victory while advising him to see the former Gov of Ekiti state as part of him.
We equally advocate for southwest PDP regional integration, a strong cohesion that would put the region in the front for the National Chairmanship of the party come December. He said this in a statement issued in Ado. That all leaders in the southwest should work with Gov Seyi Makinde to bring forth best candidate for the National Chairman which the region is long overdue,” he said.
