A twelve year old boy, Yusuf Abubakar has died from gunshot wounds after his elder brother tested the efficacy of a newly procured gunshot protective charm.
A statement by the Kwara State Police command spokesperson Okasanmi Ajayi in Ilorin said on Sunday a report was recieved at Kaiama police station about the killing of 12 years old Yusuf Abubakar by his elder brother, Abubakar Abubakar.
According to Ajayi both boys are children of one Abubakar Abubakar a hunter in Dutse Gogo town in Kaiama.
The spokesman explained that the incident occurred during the process of testing the efficacy of a newly procured gunshot protective charm by the two brothers.
Ajayi explained that after the children had fortified themselves with the protective charm, the elder son brought his father’s dane gun and shot his younger sibling, adding that the charm failed and the 12year old Yusuf Abubakar died on the spot.
