A suspected car thief was reportedly caught on Sunday after attempting to steal a vehicle opposite Kunle Pharmacy and Store in Ibadan, Oyo State.
In a video circulating online, the suspect was seen crashing the stolen car into a drainage while trying to escape. Eyewitnesses said the noise from the incident attracted passersby, who quickly rushed to the scene.
The mob was seen in the footage beating the suspect severely. It was unclear at press time whether the suspect survived the attack or had been handed over to the police.
