It was earlier reported that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate for the ruling All Progressive Congress, was involved in a scandal regarding a missing certificate.
A photobook of Chicago State University appeared earlier on June 4 on social media showed the ruling party national leader truly graduated from the university.
Images of graduating students with Bola Ahmed Tinubu included in the black and white photo book with a vintage appearance.
Earlier, Chicago State University confirmed that Tinubu did in fact attend the institution.
Following the repeated accusations, Farooq Kperogi, a Nigerian lecturer based in the United States, claimed he contacted a colleague of mine at Chicago State University to help him determine whether Tinubu received a degree from the institution.
The colleague conveyed the university’s response after getting confirmation from the Registrar’s office.
“In light of renewed doubts about Tinubu’s qualifications, I again reached out to a colleague of mine at the Chicago State University to help me verify if Tinubu graduated from the school.
“She told me he did but said she’d go ask at the Registrar’s office. She shared this with me,” he wrote on Twitter.
In a brief email answer on Monday, June 27, Caleb Westberg, the director of Chicago State University’s office of Records and Registration, confirmed Tinubu’s presence.
He additionally attested to Tinubu’s receipt of an honors-only Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree.
The email reads:
“To whom it may concern “Please be advised that Bola. A. Tinubu attended Chicago State University from August 1977 – June 1979.
He was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with Honours on June 22, 1979. His major was accounting.”
