A community in Ibadan, Oyo State Capital on Monday thrown into mourning as chairman of Igisogba Oke-Odo Community in Omi-Adio Area of the city and two others swept away by flood.
An exclusive report by Double A Media gathered that a heavy downpour of rain in the community caused the tragedy.
Two community members, Mr. Alimi Olumuyiwa and Wasiu Adeshina said, “three people were drown in the river on Monday evening, including the community’s general landlord chairman, Mr. Nureni Adejumo AKA Master.
Furthermore, Engr. Nurudeen Adejumo, a son to Mr. Nureni Adejumo (currently missing) said, “I received a distress call yesterday evening that my dad had been swept away by the river and he’s no where to be found”
Engr. Adejumo further lamented that, he was seriously better to hear that story about his dad and also recalled what claimed the live of his mother about ten years ago both as a result of failure from the part of those who are governing us.
The whole community therefore called on the state governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde to please rise up to their plait and help them reconstruct the bridge that has collapsed for more than 10 years, to prevent reoccurrence of such a disheartening incidence.
