The Chapter President, Christian Legislators Fellowship International of Oyo State House of Assembly, Honourable Oluwafemi Oluwafowokanmi has urged the people of the state to join hands with the state governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde to continue to promote peace in the state in order to move the state to enviable heights
Hon Oluwafowokanmi made the point at the 2021 Christmas programme held at the Assembly cathedral, saying the urge became necessary in order to enable the governor consolidate and improve on the peace and progress the administration has achieved since inception of the ongoing administration in the pace setters state.
According to him, what brought the peace into the state has to do with the peaceful governance by governor Seyi Makinde, a development which has aided growth in every sector of the economy of the state.
“We also want to see such peace reign in Nigeria in 2022 so that the issues of kidnapping, terrorism, banditry among other terrible vices troubling our nation will become a thing of the past.”
The legislator who doubles as the chairman House Committee on Education in the Assembly admonished the people of the state to come together to support the governor in his quest to liberate the state from the shackles of poverty, just the same way members of the 9th have been supporting the the governor from inception.
In his sermon derived from the theme of the programme, “The Kingdom of Peace”,Reverend Temitope Adeyemo, presiding Pastor, Bethel Baptist Church, Kumapayi Olodo in Ibadan, urged the people to come to the knowledge of Jesus Christ in order to fulfill the essence of the birth, death and resurrection of the saviour.
According to him, the purpose of Christ birth is to deliver us from the hands of the enemy and give us hope brought down by his kingdom of peace.
“The kingdom of peace we are celebrating is to give us justification of peace.’
“This is also introducing us to righteousness and to reconcile us to Jesus Christ the real purpose and essence of the Christmas celebration.”
