Kogi State has released the result of 111 persons tested for Corona virus in the state on Monday.
Mr. Kingsley Fanwo, the State Commissioner for Information and Communication Strategy, all disclosed that all cases tested Negative.
He disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday in Lokoja, the State’s capital.
Fanwo, said that no officials from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) were available when the tests were conducted on the persons.
According to him, the testing kits procured by the State were used to conduct the tests and that those tested were picked randomly.
“Kogi State got testing kits independently and followed NCDC guidelines,” the Commissioner said.
“111 COVID-19 rapid tests were conducted in Kogi State yesterday (Monday), and all results came out negative,” he added.
Fanwo also said that the State remained COVID-19-free.
He added: “We shall not go to streets to pick people to be tested for COVID-19, but hospitals where people with similar symptoms are found and also based on any information of suspected cases.”
