The former Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District on the red chamber of the National Assembly, Senator Dino Melaye reportedly gave out 25 Kogi State House of Assembly candidates #500,000 each.
The Kogi State House of Assembly candidates who received the money are those vying for the legislative seats under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party.
Dino Melaye, who is known for his outspokenness made this known today on his verified Facebook page. The post by the former Federal lawmaker on his verified Facebook page has generated a lot of reactions from his fans and numerous followers on the social media platform.
Dino Melaye said; “Kogi State Assembly election: Dino Melaye gifts 25 Kogi State Assembly PDP candidates ₦500,000 each”.
Dino Melaye, who is one of the ardent supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party Presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. He served as the spokesperson for the Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Council.
Atiku Abubakar, a former Vice President of Nigeria lost the election to the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He has however inaugurated his legal team to challenge the victory of the All Progressives Congress Presidential candidate adding that the election results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission were manipulated in favour of the former Governor of Lagos State.
Recall that in a recent interview with The Punch Newspaper, Dino Melaye stated that he has picked his nomination form to contest the Kogi State Governorship election under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party.
