A member of Nigerian Senate Dr Abdulfatai Buhari has called on Nigerian irrespective of the religious belief and cultural affiliation to always sacrifice their time, knowledge and skills for the progress of Nigeria
He also urge the people in position of authority to sacrifice their greed and lust for unnecessary accumulation of wealth at the expense of the masses.
Buhari representing Oyo North Senatorial District comprising of Ogbomoso and Oke Ogun gave this admonition in a Easter Message to christian faithful on this year commemoration of death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
The Federal lawmaker said” The lesson of this Easter period is sacrifice, Jesus sacrifice his life, he left everything and surrender himself, the virtues which he has been demonstrating right from his birth, we may not be like Christ but we should have a semblance of his good virtues for us to have a better society.
“It is painful that many religious leaders who are suppose to be role models have backslide and deviating from the righteous part, thereby misleading people in power just because of their personal gain, this must not continue if truly we want God to bless our nation”
The re-elected lawmaker who is currently the chairman Senate committee on ICT and Cybercrime said further that continuous prayers, sacrifice and exhibiting of good virtues will not only help our life as individual but also have meaningful impact in the society.
He however congratulates Christians and urged them to emulate Christ virtues by sacrificing their time to pray for leaders and progress of the country and be a living Christ for others to emulate.
