The former Deputy Governor and People’s Democratic Party’s Chieftain in Oyo State, Alhaji Hazeem Gbolarumi, has sent Ramadan greetings to all Muslim faithfuls as Muslims celebrate this year Eid-el-Fitri.

In a statement issued in Ibadan through his Special Adviser on Media, Olaniyi Stephen on Saturday, Gbolarumi congratulates all followers of the Islamic faith in the country who have successfully concluded this year Ramadan fast and asked them to unite behind the country’s leaders in the efforts to find a lasting solution to the problems of poverty, insecurity and, pandemic bedeviling the nation.

The Balogun Adinni of Ibadanland said: “On the blessed and joyous occasion of the Eid-el-Fitri after the rigorous and spiritually uplifting Ramadan fast, I urge Muslims and all Nigerians alike to embrace the common goal and unity, which the Ramadan essentially manifests,” Gbolarumi said.

According to him: “the holy month of Ramadan has gone for year 2020(hijrah 1440). We should adhere to the teachings of the month such as tolerance, discipline, compassionate, and act of charity. I pray that we witness more of this on the surface of the earth, our Ibadahs shall be accepted, and our State and country shall witness a good fortune going forward”.

He rejoices with all Muslims in the country as Nigeria joins the rest of the world in celebrating Eid-El-Fitri which marks the end of the month-long annual fast and prays that Almighty Allah will grant them all the rewards promised to the faithful for the pious observance of its injunctions of piety, abstinence, self-discipline, constant prayer and charity.

”He assures all the Citizens of Oyo State once again that the imperatives of national unity, peace, harmony, collective development and progress has begun and will continue to inspire and motivate all policies and actions of the present administration led by His Excellency, Gov. Seyi Makinde in the State”.

He challenged all Muslims and the other citizens in Oyo State to avoid hatred, anger and revenge in view of the current national dispensation.

Finally, he advised the Muslims to be law-abiding in all circumstances while praying to Allah fervently in their various homes to observe the physical distancing in order to reduce the spread of COVID-19 infection, if that is what the situation requires, to forgive our sins and heal the world from destructive and disruptive diseases.
