…reveal State Exco got N25 million as refund from property owner

The allegation by the Gboyega Oguntuwase led State Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ekiti State, that ex-governor Ayo Fayose allegedly sold the party ‘s state secretariat complex may not be true as documents which newsmen in Ado-Ekiti were privy to on Friday showed that the Oguntuwase led state NWC actually got a refund of the sale of the property for a sum of N25 million on January 18, 2017.
A document with the logo of the PDP, Ekiti State, which was duly signed by the trio of Gboyega Oguntuwase, chairman of the party, Pastor Tope Adejorin, Secretary and Sunday Olowolafe, legal adviser, and.which has the title: ” Acceptance of Refund ” , showed that the party state NWC instructed one Mrs. Rachel O.B Ajayi to deposit a sun of N25million into the party’s account with Heritage bank of account number 0303411241.
The document reads in part: “We accept the refund of N25 million Naira only (25,000,000), both as purchase price and development carried out on the property situate, lying and being at 210A, Oba Aladesanmi Road, evidenced by an encumbered Certificate of statutory Right of Occupancy date 15th May , 1980 and registered on 16th May, 1980, as No 24 at page 24 of Volume 139 of the land Registry in the land Registry at Akure, Ondo State.”
Another of the documents, dated June 17, 2016 and signed for and on behalf of the party by Mr. Sunday Olowolafe, legal adviser, also showed that the PDP state NWC led by Oguntuwase had earlier requested for a sum of N26 million and N400,000 as refund for the property but this was turned down by Mrs. Ajayi after which the party later accepted her offer of N25 million on January 18, 2017.
