A Nigerian Returning Expert from Germany on Food Science and Environmental Protection, Nicholas Tai Faweya, has promised the people of Ekiti South Senatorial district that he would deploy massive agricultural investment and management to provide food, jobs and other basic necessities of life for them if voted as the next Senator, representing the district in the coming polls.
Faweya, a Food scientist who holds an M.Sc in Environmental Protection and Agricultural Food Production from the
University of Hohenheim, Germany, and has worked extensively in that area in Germany after a stint with the Consolidated Breweries Nig. Plc, said with his experience as an expert in agriculture and environmental protection, he would make a difference and deliver dividends of democracy to his people.
Faweya spoke to newsmen recently
during the official opening of a situation office in his home town, Emure-Ekiti in Emure Local Government Area of Ekiti State. He said the situation office will provide an avenue where people can register their opinions, brainstorm, and cross-breed ideas on how to advance the district.
The German Returnee said he was moved by the palpable poverty and lack of developmental initiatives prevalent in the country and decided to purposely return home: ” to bring my expertise and experience to bear in developing the nation.”
Speaking further, he said: “the basis of our lives is politics. Politics determines the destiny of all humans in our society and this is why we have to be actively involved. This is why l am involved and l an aspiring for a seat in the Senate so l can represent the yearnings and aspirations of the good people of Ekiti South.
“Nigerian politics may be dirty but those of us who have come with genuine interests would soon make it clean. My logo is ‘one person can make a difference’ and l really want to be that only one person that will represent the yearnings of our people sincerely.
“I am more interested in the Legislature because that is where we will take important decisions, enact laws and formulate policies that can impact positively on the lives of not only my people in Ekiti South but the totality of Nigerians.
I hope that with the support of my people and the Almighty God, we will jointly deliver the Emure agenda through me and give our people in Ekiti South their well deserved representation at the Senate.
“I am a pioneer member of the All Progressive Congress (APC), it is the platform on which l am contesting. I was part of APC at its inception in Germany.
“I have what I call my transformation agenda and number one is agricultural revolution. We will put this in place at a global standard level. We will have something like a farm settlement and it will have an holistic approach where it will involve production, harvesting, processing and distribution among others in the chain”.
“I will defend the Bill about this farm settlement before the Senate and we will ensure it becomes law. As a Scientist and Agriculturist, l have designed a scientifically-inclined toolkit to get our job done effortlessly and we have a global standard way of doing this”.
The late sage, chief Obafemi Awolowo said that : “He who would move the world, must first move himself”. That’s why I am presenting myself having taken my time to understudy the situation and done my home work well and l know that with the experience I have got home and abroad and with my sincerity of purpose, l can give quality representation to the people of my constituency. Everybody will be involved and they will all benefit from us. We are also clamouring for an Emure agenda which l represent, we want to be given preferential treatment this time, ” he said.
