Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), Prof. Abayomi Sunday Fasina has felicitated with Muslim community of the institution on the occasion of the celebration of Eld-El Kabir, urging them to remember the teachings and instructions of Allah as they celebrate.
Speaking through his Special Adviser on Media Matters, Wole Balogun, in a release made available to newsmen on Wednesday in Ado-Ekiti, Prof. Fasina congratulated all Muslim staff in FUOYE on the celebration of Eld-el Kabir and wished them more fruitful celebrations in coming years.
The VC who described FUOYE Muslim community as peace loving, dutiful and supportive members of staff who do not act on religious sentiments in discharging their duties, urged them to continue in their dedication to the university system.
Prof. Fasina also enjoined the Muslim brethren to continue to be dedicated and committed followers of Prophet Mohammadu (SAW), taking careful note of the servant of God’s sacrifice, selfishness and love for humanity.
The statement reads in part: “ As our Muslim brothers and sisters in FUOYE begin the annual celebration of the Eld-El Kabir today, Wednesday, June 28, l felicitate heartily with you and on behalf of the Management team of our upwardly mobile Ivory Tower, FUOYE, wish you a joyous and fruitful celebration.
“ You have been peace loving, highly supportive and very dutiful members of staff of our great institution. Your sterling contribution towards the growth of the system has been without any religious or other sentiments and l greatly appreciate this professional and humane gesture.
“While congratulating you on this glorious Eld-El Kabir, l wish you more fruitful and productive years ahead Insha Allah. I also urge you to continue to adhere to the principles of sacrifice, immense love, selflessness and peace loving among others that Prophet Mohammadu (SAW) represents.
“I assure you that with your continued support for our great citadel of learning, now fourth most subscribed varsity in Nigeria courtesy of our progressive and developmental strides, we shall continue to shine brightly among others.
“I equally assure you that as you continue in your dedication and commitment to duty, your welfare and well being shall continue to receive Management’s attention and prompt implementation.
“Islam is a religion of peace and true Muslims like you are peace loving people. As you peacefully celebrate and enjoy this Eld-El Kabir, l wish you God’s protection and more glorious years ahead, Batak Da Sallah!
