Two of the ladies among the July 11 returnees from Lebanon have named their new baby boys after the Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde.
The Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to Oyo state Governor on Diaspora Matters, Mrs Bolanle Sarumi-Aliyu, who was present at the naming ceremony made this and could not contain her joy.
She explained that impacts of Governor Makinde’s administration will linger for many generations to come.
“It’s a joyous occasion today, the naming ceremony of the two boys born by our July 11 returnees and both parents named the boys: Oluseyi Fahrihan and Oluwaseyi Khalid.
“Both mothers and the Diaspora Office is thanking His Excellency, The Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde, Chairman, Nigerian Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) Honourable Abike Dabiri, Lebanese Ambassador to Nigeria Excellency Houssam dien, CEO Silver wings Travel Agency Mr Mamoud Said , the Nigerian Mission in Lebanon , NAPTIP and IOM for facilitating the successful Repatriation of these mothers on the 11th of July 2020,” she explained.
She noted that it was saddening to find out the unpleasant conditions most Nigerians live abroad in their quest for a better life in a greener pasture stressing that there is no place like home regardless of what Nigeria may be going through in term of developmental process.
She however assured that the present government under the leadership of Engr Seyi Makinde through the Diaspora Office will not relent in its search, locating, extracting, and repatriating all Oyo state Citizens resident in any foreign country across the world, who are being subjected to inhuman treatment.
