Hoteliers and traders in Ibadan are praising Governor Seyi Makinde for hosting the “Bi-Annual Police Games – Oluyole 2024” sports fiesta, which has brought over 4,000 policemen and women, as well as other officials, to the city.
The event, sponsored by the Oyo State Government, has had a positive impact on the local economy, with hotel bookings and commercial activities experiencing a boost.
The Ilaji Hotel and Sports Resort, in particular, has seen an increase in patronage. Traders in major markets and restaurants have also reported increased business.
The Chief Operating Officer of Ilaji Hotel and Sports Resort, Prince Adeshina Araoye, commended Governor Makinde for his support and highlighted the positive impact of hosting national events on the local economy and security.
He urged the governor to continue attracting such events to the state. Traders and business owners in Ibadan have noticed significant changes and are appreciative of the governor’s efforts.
