The Management of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) has vehemently debunked the rumour being peddled around in some quarters, particularly among the University community, that the Bursar, Mrs. Bolatito Roseline Akande has been suspended by the University Governing Council during its just concluded meeting held in Lagos.
A few days ago, it was gathered that the institution’s Bursar was allegedly suspended by the University Council for alleged official misconduct. The purveyors of the fake news did not confirm its veracity from the school’s authority.
According to sources in the University which pleaded anonymity for fear of witchhunt, the alleged suspension was allegedly slammed on Mrs. Akande in order to forewarn her from perpetrating other alleged misconduct that could adversely affect the smooth running of the affairs of the University.
But when contacted for reaction, Mrs. Akande who expressed shock and disbelief at the development, urged the reporter to contact the Registar of the University, Mr. Olatunbosun Odusanya, to react to the issues officially, and on behalf of the University.
Mr. Odusanya when contacted debunked the rumour, saying: “
It is not true that our Bursar, Mrs. Bolatito Roseline Akande was suspended. This is a lie from the pit of hell. This is a woman who has been giving her best for the institution and who has continued to receive commendations from within and outside the University for her meritorious services.
“The rumour mongers are only trying to mislead the members of the public in order to give an impression that all may not be well among the Management team. But this is really not true. The principal officers of FUOYE, and in particular, the Bursar and l, as the Registar, are having a very robust and harmonious working relationship with our amiable Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abayomi Sunday Fasina. He has been a very wonderful and understanding Boss and we are cooperating fully with him. Thank you, ” the Registar said.
