The Management of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), has announced the promotion of 19 senior academic staff members to the professional cadre.
The Special Adviser on Media Matters to the Vice Chancellor, Mr Wole Balogun, who disclosed this in a press release at the weekend, said that the the FUOYE Governing Council, on Thursday, approved the promotion of the said academic staff members.
According to the statement, eight of the senior academic staff members were promoted to full professorship, while 11 others were promoted to Readership cadre.
Those promoted to full professorial chairs included Professor Ekundare Ayodele ODO, Physics Department, Professor Babatunde J. OMOTOSHO, Sociology Department, Professor Ruth A. GABRIEL-AJOBIEWE, Microbiology Department, Professor A. A. AJIBOYE of the Department of Plant Science and Biotechnology and Professor I. E. OKOROR of Microbiology Department.
Others are, Professor Olufunmilayo Iyadunni NDUBUBA of the Department of Civil Engineering, Professor Andrew AGBON of Animal and Environmental Biolog and Professor Patrick Temi ADEGUN of the Faculty of Medicine.
The senior academic staff members who were promoted to Associate Professorial cadre, and are to serve as Readers, included Dr. Bifatife Adeseye of the Theatre and Media Arts, Department, Dr Eunice M. OGUNBUSOLA of the Food Science and Technology Department, Dr James Oludare AGBOLADE of the Department of Plant Science and Biotechnology and Dr O. E. ADEYEFA of the Department of Mathematics.
Others included Dr Rufus B. AKINDOLA of Sociology Department, Dr Hezekiah Oluremi ABIMBOLA of the Department of Sociology, Dr Lukman Shina AKINOLA , also of Mathematics Department, Dr Adesola Adebanjo SATIMEHIN of the Agricultural and Bioresources Engineering Department, Dr Mukaila OLAGUNJU of the Department of Computer Science , Dr Christopher EHINOMEN of the Department of Economics and Dr Segun Isaac OYEDEJI of the Department of Animal and Environmental Biology.
Balogun said that the development is in fulfillment of Professor Fasina’s pledge to take as top priority, the welfare and upward progression of the staff members.
“The Vice Chancellor, while congratulating the newly promoted academic staff, urged them to continue to give their best for the growth and development of the FUOYE”.
