Oyo State former Deputy Governor and State Coordinator for Atiku Abubakar’s Campaign Organization, His Excellency Barr Hazeem Gbolarumi, has Congratulated and described the victory of the Peoples Democratic party governorship candidate, Sen. Ademola Adeleke in Osun State Governorship election as a testament to the acceptability of the PDP in the state.
Gbolarumi in a statement through his Chief Press Secretary, Olaniyi Stephen in Ibadan on Sunday, saluted the people of Osun State over the smooth conduct of yesterday’s governorship election.
“This victory is for the people of Osun State and all lovers of democracy across the country. It is a mark of renewed commitment of the people to our party, the PDP.
“This is our first win since the emergence of Atiku Abubakar as the Presidential candidate of our party.
“This election is, however, symbolic as it shows the preparedness and commitment of our people to vote enmass for the PDP in the next year’s general election.”
He saluted the security agencies and the umpire, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for conducting credible election in Ekiti notwithstanding pockets of hiccups and, upholding the people’s will despite reported pressure to unduly influence the outcome of the poll.
He hailed the people of the state for voting Peoples Democratic party, while urging them to do more for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar in the next year’s presidential election.
Gbolarumi further thanked members of the Osun State PDP campaign council led by Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State; the National and State Working Committee of the party, the PDP Presidential Candidate, His Excellency Alhaji Atiku Abubakar who led final Campaign really ; as well as all PDP supporters in the State for their hard work, dedication and vigilance which led to the victory.
He urged Governor-elect Adeleke to be magnanimous in victory as he sets out to deliver on the mandate of the people of Osun State.
