The Wife of Oyo State Governor, Mrs. Florence Ajimobi has been inducted as a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Public Resources Management and Politics (CIPRMP) for her humanitarian services especially for mothers and children in the state.
While honouring her, the Executive Director of the institute, Dr. Richard Kpoku maintained that since the commencement of this administration in way back in 2011, the government of his Excellency, Senator Abiola Ajimobi and his wife has continuously made enviable and gigantic demonstration of uncommon commitment, passion and utmost concern for the general growth and development of the state which is impeccably evident in all the economic sectors in the state.
He therefore congratulated the First Lady for the well deserved recognition of excellence noting that she is seen as a role model figure, beacon of hope and source of unending inspirations to this generation and posterity, saying “your sterling qualities in leadership towards ensuring excellent service delivery have impacted positively in your sector, nation and global stage at large.
According to Kpoku, eminent Nigerians who had received the honour in the past include, her Excellency, Aisha Mohammadu Buhari, Dr. (Mrs) Gloria Laraba Shoda, President National Council for Women Societies, Chief Are Babalola, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, HRM, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, and among other Nigerians.
In her reaction, the First Lady thanked the institute for adding another beautiful feather to her cap and for having the opportunity of meeting with fellow Africans drawn from all walks of life who share same passion for service as well as excellence with her.
The wife of the Governor who will clock 60 years of age on Friday said: “African at home and abroad need to come together to synergize their energies, ideas and purpose and to chart a course to move this great continent forward. It is not enough to sit on the sidelines and tell others how to play; we all need to get off our high horses, get on the field of play and make things happen.
“While we receive several castigation and criticism from different quarters, it is quite heart-warming to know that there are still some people out there who are watching with objective eyes and are able to see the good which we have committed ourselves to doing for the love of our people”, Mrs. Ajimobi said.
