Construction guru, Idowu Lamidi, has praised the appointment of Zaccheus Adedeji as the acting Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service. Lamidi, who is the Chairman of Dollar Construction, described Adedeji’s appointment as the right fit for the position.
While speaking with journalists in his Abuja office, Lamidi praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, claiming that all the appointments he has made so far are an indication of what he wants to achieve and finding the best individuals for the job to make it easier for him.
The real estate guru, whose company owns Dollar Estate in Ibadan, called Zaccheus a very intelligent man who will turn around the FIRS.
“Not many of us were surprised when the announcement came; we all knew what he had achieved as the Commissioner for Finance under the late Governor Abiola Ajimobi. He is a brilliant man and has consistently proved his capabilities. We are happy that President Bola Tinubu is a promise-keeper and generous to us in Oyo State. No one can fault any of his appointments because they are all qualified individuals. I wish Mr. Adedeji the best and also call on God Almighty to always be with him,” says Lamidi.
Lamidi further emphasized the importance of having a competent leader at the helm of the FIRS, especially during these challenging times. He highlighted that the economic recovery of the country heavily relies on the effective management and collection of taxes, and Adedeji’s expertise in finance and taxation make him the ideal candidate for the position.
As the conversation shifted towards the challenges facing the construction industry, Lamidi expressed his optimism about the future. He believed that with Adedeji’s appointment, there would be increased transparency and efficiency in the tax system, which would directly benefit businesses like Dollar Construction.
“Lack of proper tax collection and management has always been one of the major issues faced by businesses in the construction industry. With Mr. Adedeji’s appointment, I firmly believe that we will witness a significant improvement in this aspect. This will not only create a level playing field for all businesses but also pave the way for future development in the industry,” Lamidi explained.
Lamidi also commended the efforts of the President in ensuring that meritocracy and expertise were the guiding principles behind ad appointments. He praised Tinubu for his commitment to providing opportunities for qualified individuals across the country. In Lamidi’s eyes, these measures were a clear indication of Tinubu’s dedication to nation-building and fostering economic growth.
With his vast experience in the construction industry, Lamidi acknowledged the importance of efficient tax collection and allocation of funds to infrastructure projects. He emphasized that proper utilization of tax revenue would contribute to the modernization and growth of cities like Ibadan, where Dollar Estate is located.
In conclusion, Lamidi expressed his confidence in Adedeji’s ability to lead the FIRS and make significant contributions to the nation’s economy. He urged Nigerian businesses and citizens to support Adedeji’s initiatives and work collectively towards a prosperous future.
“As stakeholders in the construction industry, we are ready to support Mr. Adedeji and his team at the FIRS. We believe that under his leadership, the tax system will become more efficient, and the funds generated will be utilized wisely, specifically in the development of infrastructure. With his expertise and dedication, we are hopeful for positive changes that will benefit both businesses and ordinary citizens,” Lamidi concluded with a determined smile.
