Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) will on July 9 and 10, 2021, screen the first batch of applicants for the academic programmes into the institution’s Institute of Part Time Studies (IPTS). The screening excercise will be followed almost immediately with a release of the names of successful candidates’ admission list. It is basically to confirm the authenticity of the applicants’ credentials which were earlier submitted online to ascertain their qualification for the programmes.
A statement made available to newsmen in Ado-Ekiti on Monday by Wole Balogun, Special Adviser on Media Matters to the Vice-Chancellor, FUOYE, Prof. Abayomi Sunday Fasina, disclosed that the screening excercise notice was given to the VC’ media office on Monday and signed by the Secretary of the IPTS, Mr. Babajide O. Ogunjana.
Ogunjana in a notice entitled:” lmportant Notice To All Prospective Part-time Students, said: “The Institute of Part-time Studies, Federal University Oye-Ekiti will commence its first batch of Admission Screening Exercise for 2020/2021 Academic Session between Friday the 9th day of July, 2021 and Saturday the 10th day of July, 2021 at Biometric Centre behind UBA Oye-Ekiti by 10am on each day.
“All prospective students are expected to come with Original and Photocopies of their Credentials for this exercise.
“Please note that failure to attend this Screening Exercise in person with relevant documents will render your admission not being processed.

It will be recalled that the IPTS was an intiniative of the Prof. Fasina’s led administration to cater for the teeming Nigerian youths seeking qualitative and standard University education in Nigeria.
The 20 academic programmes currently approved by the National Universities Commission (NUC) for the Institute included B.SC Agric Economics and Extension, B.SC Food Science and Technology; B.SC Soil Science and Land Management; B.SC Sociology, B.SC Banking and Finance ; B.SC Political Science and B.SC Psychology.
“Others are B.A English and Literary Studies, B.A History and lnternational Studies, B.A Religious Studies, B.A Theatre and Media Arts, B.SC Demography and Social Statistics , as well as B.SC Peace and Conflict Resolutions.
“Also approved are B.SC Public Administration; B.SC Water Resources Management and Agro Meteorology, B.A Linguistics and Languages, B.Sc Animal Production and Health, B.Sc lnternational Relations; BSc Economics and Development Studies, B.Sc and Sociology”.
