Isaiah 2:1.
An elderly and prominent clergy man in Nigeria called for a private meeting with Nollywood actors and producers.
He acknowledged their influence, especially on the younger generation, and pleaded with them to review their contents.
By the way, what is the connection between a clergy man and movie producers? They’re both
in the movies industry!
Nothing moves people like movies. Movies are running and ruining our society today.
The Holy Word of God is meant to be presented in pictures and videos. Any preacher that presents it otherwise is bound to be frustrated.
He must say it in a way that people don’t just hear it, but see it.
A preaching that does not engage people’s imagination is a waste of time and efforts.
Our society is basically at the mercy of Hollywood (or Nollywood as the case may be) and Holy word.
The problem with the Hollywood is the script or the content. The presentation hardly contradicts the content.
The detrimental effects of the Hollywood in our society can be reversed, not from the actors, but from the script writers. A viable screening system should be put in place, so as to restore sanity to “Nollywood” and our society by extension.
The problem with the Holy Word is never the content or the script. The Word of God is 700% error-free. It passed through the fire seven times. It was screened and edited by God’s fire. ( Psalms 12:6)
The problem with the Holy Word is in the interpretation and presentation.
The sinners were attracted to the Jesus of the Bible in their multitudes.
Meanwhile, the Jesus being presented by many preachers today makes sinners to run as far as possible.
Even as an errand boy and a prisoner , the Holy Word called “Joseph” a prosperous man.
For many of today’s preachers, prosperity for such a person is a taboo.
“The man on the pulpit either pulls his audience out of the pit or pushes them into the pit. Beware!!!
