“In the beginning was the Word ……” — John 1:1
The Holy Word is the oldest, yet the most current. When I saw the Bible addressing the issues of police’s extortion, kidnapping, homosexuality, male barrenness, and many others, I was taken aback. I concluded that anyone who doesn’t read or hear the ancient word is not worth hearing.
Any “WOOD”, whether Holly, Nolly or Bolly, that would contradict the Holy word is not healthy for the human soul and society.
Parental Guidance (PG) hasn’t helped a lot because many parents also need some guidance.
One of my friends went to a relative’s house and chanced upon his little cousin watching some dirty stuffs. He threatened to report him to his Dad, but the boy later revealed that it’s the Dad that watches the stuff whenever he felt everyone was asleep.
I stand to be corrected but I’m yet to see anything that is unhealthy for the child’s soul which is healthy for the parent’s.
Soul is soul; the soul of an adult isn’t different from the child’s.
Some of these seemingly harmless adult stuffs are the basis for adultery and divorce.
As parasites, they suck out every trace of affection between a couple, until the wine is drained and the union becomes as dry as “Garri Ijebu”.
Holy Word says love is by willing.
Hollywood says love is by feeling.
Holy Word calls it indecency.
Hollywood calls it sexy.
Holy Word says milk the “cow” after you’ve owned it.
Hollywood says milk the “cow” now and own it later.
Holy Word calls it violence.
Hollywood says it’s self defence.
Hollywood says if it feels right, it is right.
Holy Word says subject your feelings to your spirit.
A smart person like you surely knows which one to like and follow.
“If it gets mixed up on the way, get back to where it all began — “THE HOLY WORD”.
