The Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde has revealed his romantic side of life for the first time during an interview with Edmund Obilo on Splash FM, Ibadan.
During the prerecorded radio program, State Affairs, the governor revealed how he met his wife, Tamunominini Olufunke Makinde during his NYSC program at Shell in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State Capital.
According to him, he met her at a swimming pool located at Shell residential area where her father lived as Shell’s top staff.
The governor in the interview revealed how he shoot his shot but his wife who was 19 years of age preparing for her JAMB around year 1990 initially turned him down saying she could only have boyfriend until she’s 21 year old.
The governor revealed how she later agreed to his advances and he impregnated her in 1997 as only condition to make her parents accepted them to marry.
According to him, they got married in February, 1998 and had their first daughter in August, 1998.
