Many people have wondered why some veteran actors are no longer gracing our screens and Olusegun Akinremi popularly known as Chief Kanran is one of such.
The actor who was popular in the 90s went underground in recent times and not much has been heard about him. However, Nigerians have got to know that the actor was going through tough times and the situation has only gotten from bad to worse.
In a Yoruba program on fresh fm anchored by ace broadcaster, Kola Olootu, Kanran narrated how he lost his house and studio to a fire outbreak and resorted to sleeping in a church.
“After my house and studio were razed down by fire, I have been sleeping inside a church for over one year now because I have no money to rent a house.
“My four cars were gone too. Feeding became an issue. People sometimes think I am fine because of my big size but my body size is just a gift from God. I am really suffering” Chief Kanran said.
The actor broke down in tears while narrating his ordeal but Kola Olootu quickly consoled him and called on well meaning Nigerians to assist the actor with whatever way they can.
Recall that Chief Kanran in an interview some months back had told Nigerians that he is still very much involved in the entertainment industry despite being a Bishop.
