The controversial lawyer, Olawale Ojoge Daniel who was recently alleged of serial fraudulent activity on Thursday claimed he was tested positive for Coronavirus to evade arrest of the police.
The Inspector General of Police (IGP) monitoring team had in last week severally visited Ojoge’s, Agbarigo rented appartment to arrest him following hint from his victims.
It will be recalled that Ojoge in company of some of his co-travlers were fingered in defrauding the company of an Ibadan-based business man, Alhaji Sufianu Ayinde Kazeem, family of Raji Adepoju and another family of Soara Koleoso of Salvation Army, Ibadan to the tune of N8million.
Following the allegations against Ojoge, a professional body, Dignity in Labour and other victims of the controversial lawyer petitioned police for his arrest.
Our correspondent learnt that the IGP team arrived his house around 4am but Ojoge Daniel refused to open door for them, but the officers eventually find their way into his compound.
Opera news gathered that Ojoge phoned a former deputy governor of the state, Azeem Gbolarunmi to appeal to the police authority, promising to show up on Friday.
After withdrawing the IGP team, our correspondent reports that on Thursday morning, Ojoge through his lawyer, OJoge & Ojoge chamber, wrote a letter to the police informing them that lawyer Ojoge Daniel tested positive for covid-19, hence, he could not report.
Meanwhile, our correspondent gathered that the embattled Ojoge who claimed to be tested positive for coronavirus was on Friday sited celebrating his wife’s birthday in ibadan.
When contacted, one of his victims, Alhaji Sufianu Ayinde Kazeem, called for Investigation into his claims and the private hospital where he claimed to have carried out the coronavirus test for him.
Sukazeem said; “you see that is one of the problems with Ojoge Daniel. But I will implore the police to investigate his claims and ensure justice is done in this case.
The business tycoon therefore call on the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) to monitor activities of Ojoge and his wife before dragging the noble name of the association to mud.
