The Executive Governor of Cross River State, Ben Ayade has reacted to the news on why he defected to APC from PDP. Ben made this known during an interview with channel TV. He said that he joined APC to assist President Muhammadu Buhari in reducing the tension in this country.
Ben who noted that he has integrity, character, and honour also reinstated the fact that he has no issue with his former party. He added that he joined APC to help the 78-year-old Nigerian President to reduce the tension in the country.
It could be recalled that it was on Thursday that Ben defected to APC and some Nigerians have being speculating that maybe Ayade Ben was involved in a misunderstanding with his former party which made him decamped to APC but the Cross River state governor in his speech on Channel TV on Thursday, 20th of May, said PDP has done alot for him and that his decision to join APC is to join the president reduce the tension in the country. He said in part of his speech: ” As to whether there are issues in the PDP, no. The party stood by me all through the way,”
“In any other legal issues that I have had, PDP had stood with me. PDP gave me the opportunity to be a senator; PDP gave me the opportunity to be a governor. I would never have time to pull down PDP. I have integrity, character, and honour. My politics have ethics, My decision to join APC is to join the President to reduce the tension in the country.”
