The explosion in Ibadan yesterday has had a significant impact on the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology in Oyo State, according to the Commissioner for Education, Prof. Salihu Adelabu.
The explosion, which occurred on Adeyi Avenue in Old Bodija, has affected almost all the offices in the Education Ministry at the Secretariat in Agodi, Ibadan.
The commissioner expressed his concern over the high number of affected offices and called for urgent action from the government to assist the ministry.
He also advised directors to store vital documents in secure locations until office renovations can take place. Prof. Adelabu extended his sympathies to the residents and victims affected by the explosion, which was caused by illegal miners storing explosive devices in residential areas.
